At just 22, Benson Boone has quickly earned the title of pop music’s rising prince. With chart-topping songs, sold-out shows, and show-stopping stage presence, the Washington native is gaining fans as fast as he sells tickets. But behind the sequined jumpsuits and powerhouse vocals is a simple and consistent grooming routine that keeps Boone feeling confident before each performance.
In a recent interview, Boone opened up about his must-have beauty and grooming rituals. “Hair is the biggest thing,” he said. “I really just do two things: hair and oil.”
Before stepping on stage, Boone uses a light body oil to add shine to his skin. “If I have an open vest, I’ll put some on my chest and arms. If I’m in a jumpsuit, I just put it on my chest,” he explained. The extra glow complements his energetic performances and bold fashion choices.
When it comes to hair care, Boone keeps it simple. “I literally use one product only and it’s called Cantu Cream,” he shared. “I just put it in after I shower, shake it off, and let it sit. So if anybody has very thick, curly hair, that’s what I use.”
Fans have also noticed his carefully maintained mustache. Boone revealed that it’s a work in progress. “It subtly changes every couple of months,” he said. “I trim it every three or four days, just a little, so it doesn’t come too far over my lip. I like for it to come down on the sides a bit—but not too much like a handlebar mustache.”
Boone’s style and grooming habits go hand-in-hand with his explosive music career. Since releasing his debut album Fireworks & Rollerblades, he’s headlined shows, opened for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, and even performed Bohemian Rhapsody with Queen’s Brian May at Coachella.
His upcoming American Heart Tour, named after his sophomore album due June 20, sold out in just nine seconds. Last week, he performed live at Venice Beach to promote his new partnership with Armani Beauty’s Stronger With You fragrance.
From his fragrance choices to his jumpsuits and hair care routine, Boone is proving that confidence—and success—comes from staying true to what works best.
