Richmond Barber, a popular hairstylist with 1.6 million followers, recently shared an impressive hair transformation on TikTok.
The client arrived with long hair, admitting it had been a long time since his last cut. When asked, he said he hadn’t trimmed his hair since the pandemic, although he had a few cuts after leaving the Navy. Back then, he wore a buzz cut, but his hair had grown out as he prepared to visit his wife and family in the Philippines.
The client said his partner wanted a low-maintenance style that would suit his head shape. “I know it’s going to be hot in the Philippines,” he said. “I want something that fits my head shape and looks professional. I’m in healthcare.”
After their conversation, the barber quickly got to work using his special scissors. Before the cut, the client’s hair reached his chest. Moments later, he sported a neat trim with a fringe.
Now with a shorter style, the client revealed he is turning 38 this year. But the barber told him he looked much younger. “Now you definitely look 21,” he said.
The transformation video gained 48,600 likes and many positive comments. One viewer wrote, “You do magic I swear.” Another said, “Just cut off 20 years.” A third added, “Very handsome man.”
This isn’t the first time Richmond Barber amazed TikTok fans. He previously gave a dad a haircut that made him look “10 years younger.” That client had the same style for 20 years and chose a new look to celebrate five years of sobriety.
For many, haircuts happen regularly, but for some, a fresh cut after years can be a thrilling experience — and definitely worth the wait.
