Kylie Jenner is opening up about the inspiration behind her ever-evolving style. In a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the beauty mogul reflected on her “King Kylie” era in the mid-2010s, when she was known for constantly changing her look.
“I think that I’m kind of a chameleon with my style,” said Jenner. “I love to play. I’ve been like that since I was 16. I changed my hair color once a week, cut it off, put on wigs or extensions—I’ve always switched it up. It’s just who I am, and that definitely influences Khy.”
Her bold, expressive style continues today. For a recent campaign promoting her clothing brand Khy’s collaboration with designer Dilara Findikoglu, Jenner embraced a ’90s-inspired look with tousled blonde hair, reminiscent of Pamela Anderson.
In the interview, Jenner also spoke about her current fashion preferences—especially her frequent choice of little black dresses. “I think it just happened that way,” she said of the staple becoming a go-to in her wardrobe.
She admitted that she recently tried to move away from the classic look. “I was like, ‘I can’t wear another black dress.’ And then, of course, the most perfect, gorgeous Schiaparelli black dress shows up,” Jenner said, referencing the outfit she wore during her red carpet debut with boyfriend Timothée Chalamet earlier this month.
“Although these are the most beautiful, iconic gowns that I’ve been wearing, I think a black dress is also kind of like, not too attention-grabbing—in the best way,” she added. “You can never go wrong with a black dress.”
From vibrant hair colors to timeless fashion staples, Jenner continues to embrace change as a core part of her identity and creative expression.
