North West, the eldest daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, is making headlines with a bold new look just days before turning 12. On June 6, Kim shared a glimpse of North’s striking electric blue hair in an Instagram Story. The majority of North’s hair is dyed a cool blue, with touches of turquoise adding depth to the style.
The vibrant color choice draws comparisons to her aunt Kylie Jenner, who famously wore blue hair to Kim and Kanye’s wedding in 2014—a move that reportedly annoyed Kim at the time.
North has been increasingly visible alongside her mother at major events. She was by Kim’s side while she prepared for the Met Gala last month. In a conversation with Vogue, Kim said, “She’s a big critiquer. But it’s pretty good, you know, her critiquing.”
Kim added that North has recently adopted a more supportive attitude. “She’s in a really positive vibe right now,” Kim said. “Even if it’s not her style, she’ll say, ‘Just be you.’ I love that energy.”
During the May 5 Met Gala, Kim also told Vogue correspondent Emma Chamberlain that she enjoys including North in the experience. “Every time I come to the Met, I love bringing my oldest daughter. All her aunties are in the hotel, and we’re all getting ready together—it’s just a fun few days,” she said.
North has long been known for her strong opinions on fashion. In 2022, Kim spoke at Vogue’s Forces of Fashion conference and revealed, “North is very opinionated when it comes to what I’m wearing. She’ll always complain when I’m wearing too much black.”
Kim recalled a Valentine’s Day moment when she wore head-to-toe pink to please her daughter. “She got so excited she hugged me, then opened my coat, saw the black lining, and said, ‘Mom, you’re still wearing black.’”
Fashion clearly runs in the family. Both of North’s parents have their own fashion brands, and North seems eager to follow in their footsteps. She told Interview magazine that she’s launching her own clothing line, appropriately named North West.
