Celine Dion delighted fans on Friday with a nostalgic look back at one of her boldest style moments. The 57-year-old music icon shared a series of throwback photos showing herself with a striking bleach blonde pixie cut.
In the images, Dion is seen wearing a sleeveless top and low-rise jeans while posing beside a trailer. Other shots show her singing into a microphone and sitting in the bed of an old, rusted truck.
“Short hair, big vibes!” she captioned the post.
Over the years, Dion has tried many hairstyles, but the blonde pixie look seemed to strike a special chord with her followers. “I love this phase!” one fan wrote. Another added, “I really love that haircut.” Others praised her ability to pull off any look, with one user commenting, “Her beauty knows no bounds.”
While Dion still sports blonde hair, it’s now a softer shade that falls just past her shoulders.
The post comes amid growing speculation that Dion may return to the Eurovision Song Contest stage. The 2025 grand finale is set to take place on May 17 in Basel, Switzerland. Dion famously won Eurovision in 1988 representing Switzerland with her song “Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi.”
She surprised fans during the first semi-final on Tuesday, May 13, by appearing in a pre-recorded video. In both French and English, Dion shared her deep gratitude to Switzerland. “It’s a country that believed in me and gave me the chance to be part of something extraordinary,” she said. “It was a life-changing moment for me.”
She ended the message by saying she would love “nothing more but to be with you” in Basel.
Following her appearance, Swiss broadcaster SRG SSR confirmed that they remain in “close contact” with Dion and her team. “There are currently no changes regarding Celine Dion – we are still in close contact with her,” they said, noting that all aspects of the semi-final had been carefully rehearsed.
Dion has not performed live since June 8, 2019, at the closing night of her Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace. In 2022, she revealed her diagnosis with stiff person syndrome, which forced her to take a step back from performing.
However, she surprised the world again in 2024 by singing Edith Piaf’s “Hymne à l’Amour” atop the Eiffel Tower during the Paris Olympics opening ceremony.
In a recent interview with CBC News in Canada, Dion assured fans that her singing career isn’t over. “I will for sure sing again,” she said. “Fans have every right to expect that. And if I may say, my own expectation is probably bigger.”
