Reality TV star Kim Zolciak may soon unveil a fresh look. The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum recently shared a selfie on Instagram, showcasing a sandy blonde wig styled with curtain bangs. The hairstyle, while similar to her usual long, wavy blonde look, included soft, face-framing layers that caught fans’ attention.
“Think I’ll have a wig made like this,” Zolciak wrote in the caption.
Zolciak’s hair has long been a topic of interest since her RHOA debut in 2008. Over the years, the mother of six has worn a wide range of hairstyles, including chocolate-brown waves, voluminous curls, a short choppy bob, and even a dramatic crown braid. Despite these changes, her signature style has remained consistent—long, light-colored hair with defined waves.
Most of her on-screen looks have been created using wigs and extensions, a practice she started in the 1990s. Fans got a rare glimpse of her natural hair during her 2012 spinoff series, Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding. In one episode, she revealed her real hair to stylist Derek J., who was surprised to finally see it styled and down.
“I’ve always had hair!” Zolciak said during the reveal. “Kroy likes it, too. He loves my hair. Now I won’t get another tweet like, ‘Kim, do you have hair? Are you bald?’”
Derek described her natural look as more “conservative” and “sassier,” and even suggested she wear it for her wedding. But Zolciak ultimately chose a long blonde wig for her walk down the aisle.
In a 2019 Instagram Q&A, she explained her preference for wigs.
“It’s just easier for me!” she said. “I can’t imagine sitting in hair and makeup for two hours a day!”
She also shared that her wigs are pre-styled on a mannequin she calls Quinn Zolciak, making her beauty routine much more manageable.
