Jenna Ortega made a striking appearance at the Netflix Tudum live event on May 31, embracing her signature gothic glamour with a new retro twist. Known for her role as Wednesday Addams, Ortega appeared in a look that blended vintage style with a hint of Morticia Addams elegance.
Instead of Wednesday’s familiar pigtail braids, Ortega styled her hair with a side part and soft curls at the ends. Her bangs were sculpted into a defined curl resting on her forehead, giving the look a classic and cinematic feel. At one point, she added a gray scarf that matched her fitted leather suit. Draped carefully over her hair, the scarf enhanced the vintage vibe with a femme fatale edge.
Hairstylist Cesar Ramirez shared that the headscarf inspired the entire look. “I’ve been loving the freedom to play with Jenna and draw inspiration from vintage hairstyles,” Ramirez said. “We’re paying homage to iconic Hollywood, and she’s becoming an icon herself.”
To create the style, Ramirez used a round brush and the L’Oréal Professional AirLight Pro hair dryer to blow out Ortega’s hair. He then formed pin curls, allowed them to cool, and brushed them out. For the signature kiss curl, he brushed her hair forward, sculpted the curl, sprayed it with hairspray, and used the dryer again to set it.
Though her full leather suit may not have screamed summer, Ortega’s classic curls, sleek scarf, and bold makeup were timeless. She wore deep black cat-eye liner, short nails painted in dark cherry red, and a softly blended lip with a dark brick liner and light rose center—capturing a modern take on old Hollywood glamour.
