A man was arrested at Miami International Airport after refusing to leave a plane while visibly bleeding from a recent hair transplant procedure.
Eugenio Ernesto Hernandez-Garnier, 27, and his companion, Yusleydis Blanca Loyola, were removed from an American Airlines flight to Las Vegas on Tuesday, according to local news reports. Flight crew raised concerns about blood on Hernandez-Garnier’s head and the potential risk of contamination from bodily fluids. He reportedly told staff he had no clean bandages to manage the wound.
Despite requests to disembark, the couple refused to leave. According to an arrest report, Loyola told crew members, “If they could not fly, no one else can either.”
Police were called to the scene and warned the pair they would be arrested if they did not comply. Loyola began live-streaming the confrontation on TikTok as officers boarded the aircraft. The couple was eventually handcuffed and removed from the plane.
Due to the disturbance, all passengers were required to disembark before the flight could proceed, reported Local 10 News.
Hernandez-Garnier and Loyola are now facing charges of trespassing and resisting arrest.
Hair transplants typically involve removing hair follicles from the back of the scalp and inserting them into tiny holes along the hairline. Bleeding and scabbing are common during the initial recovery period.
