In a bizarre yet captivating experiment, an Instagram user who goes by the name CountryMan has gone viral after spending five days counting every hair on his head. The video, which has racked up over 14 million views, documents the unusual journey that combined determination, patience, and a touch of humor.
To begin the process, CountryMan shaved his head after wetting it thoroughly. He then collected the fallen hair and started counting each strand. Using stones as a tally system, he placed one stone on a plate for every 1,000 hairs. Over the course of five days, he reportedly spent 10 to 12 hours a day on the task.
On the second day of the experiment, he realized this might be a world-first attempt. Motivated, he contacted the Limca Book of Records and Guinness World Records, hoping to secure a spot in record books. However, things didn’t go as planned. Limca declined his request, and Guinness asked for a $1,200 fee (approximately ₹1.03 lakh) to evaluate his entry—an amount he wasn’t willing to pay.
Despite the lack of official recognition, his final count reached 91 stones, which he calculated as 91,300 individual hairs. Viewers were both amused and impressed by the dedication. One popular comment read, “Feeling so good after watching this. The pain of losing 20 hairs every day has lessened — I’ve got 90,000 left after all.”
While he may not hold a world record, CountryMan has certainly captured the internet’s attention with this oddly satisfying feat.
