Bella Hadid made a striking return to the Cannes Film Festival, stepping out with her blondest hair in years. Known for her signature dark locks and elegant updos on the red carpet, the supermodel surprised fans with a fresh honey-blonde look ahead of the festival’s opening.
Hadid, who regularly attends the Cannes event, was spotted outside Hotel Martinez in the French Riviera on May 12. Dressed in a chic all-white outfit—jeans and a corset top—she greeted fans with a smile, showing off her new hairstyle. Her hair was styled in a tousled twist with long, side-swept bangs in a soft sandy blonde shade. Even her eyebrows had been lightened to match, completing the transformation.
Colorist Jacob Schwartz, who created the new look, said the timing was perfect. “Bella attends Cannes every year, so it was the perfect moment to do something major,” he shared. He used childhood photos of Hadid, a natural blonde, to guide the process. “Using those images and her skin tone led us to this epic, luxurious honey hue.”
The coloring process took two days and included intensive treatments with Olaplex products to maintain the health of her hair. “Post-color, her hair didn’t have breakage. It was incredibly healthy, allowing me to style her hair for the red carpet with ease,” Schwartz added.
While Hadid has experimented with blonde before—most notably in 2019 and 2022—this current look marks her most radiant blonde transformation in recent memory. As always, fans can expect more show-stopping beauty moments from her as the Cannes festivities continue.
