Ellen DeGeneres has unveiled a striking new brunette hairstyle in a lighthearted Instagram video posted Sunday, showing her navigating a riding lawn mower for the first time at what appears to be her countryside home in the UK.
In the video, the 67-year-old comedian is seen driving a mower across a wide grassy field, smiling as her wife, Portia de Rossi, films the moment. “Portia thought it would be fun to film my first time on the mower. She was right,” DeGeneres captioned the post.
While the adventure began smoothly, the video quickly shifted to a humorous turn. A second clip shows DeGeneres stuck on a steep hill, needing help from a man who pushes the mower to safety. She added text over the clips: “How it started” and “How it ended.”
DeGeneres first appeared with her darker hair back in November 2024, when she and de Rossi were seen out with friends in the UK. At the time, they visited The Farmer’s Dog, a local pub, where they were joined by singer Natalie Imbruglia.
The couple, who married in 2008, reportedly relocated to the Cotswolds in southwest England—about two hours from London—following Donald Trump’s win over Kamala Harris in the 2024 U.S. presidential election. Sources told TMZ the move reflected their desire to “get the hell out” of the country. However, the property purchase occurred before the election results were confirmed.
Now enjoying a more peaceful pace abroad, DeGeneres is embracing a different lifestyle—and a bold new look—while bringing her signature humor along for the ride.
