May 2025 — Zendaya unveiled a striking new look in her latest Louis Vuitton campaign, sporting voluminous bangs in a nod to one of her upcoming film roles.
The Challengers star fronts the luxury brand’s third and final Murakami re-edition drop, posing with a range of cherry-print accessories. Her hairstyle — a bouncy blowout with full fringe — evokes the iconic look of Ronnie Spector, the late lead singer of The Ronettes.
Zendaya is set to portray Spector in an upcoming biopic directed by Barry Jenkins. The actress, who was personally close to Spector before her passing in 2022, has been attached to the film for several years. Production was officially confirmed in March. The project is based on Spector’s memoir Be My Baby and is expected to explore her rise to fame and her difficult relationship with music producer Phil Spector.
Following Spector’s death, Zendaya paid tribute on Instagram, sharing a rare Polaroid of them together from 2018. “This news just breaks my heart,” she wrote at the time. “There’s not a time I saw her without her iconic red lips and full teased hair, a true rockstar through and through.”
“Ronnie, being able to know you has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” she added. “Rest in great power. I hope to make you proud.”
The Murakami re-edition celebrates the 20th anniversary of Louis Vuitton’s collaboration with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami. Originally launched under then-creative director Marc Jacobs in the early 2000s, the collection became known for its anime-inspired graphics and vibrant reimagining of the brand’s classic monogram.
