Thirteen-year-old Daisy-Leigh has bravely cut over half a meter of her hair to support children affected by cancer and other illnesses.
She donated 52 centimeters of her hair to The Little Princess Trust, a charity that makes real hair wigs for young people who have lost their hair due to cancer or conditions like alopecia.
Daisy-Leigh faces unique challenges herself, living with a rare chromosome disorder that causes severe special needs. Despite this, she showed remarkable courage and kindness in making the decision to donate her hair.
This was only the second time Daisy-Leigh had her hair cut—the first was when she was very young in school. Because she dislikes being touched, the idea of cutting her hair was especially difficult for her.
Her family gently explained that her donation could help other children going through tough times. Daisy-Leigh’s grandmother, Vicky, shared how she and Daisy-Leigh’s mother repeatedly reassured her: “We kept saying, ‘Are you having your hair cut to help special boys and girls?’ and in the end, she said yes.”
Alongside donating her hair, Daisy-Leigh raised over £600 for The Little Princess Trust. This money will help the charity provide wigs to children in need, giving them confidence during hard times.
The haircut was done at Gemma Louise Hair in Dukinfield.
Daisy-Leigh’s story is a powerful reminder of how small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Her family hopes her courage will inspire others, no matter their age, to think about how they can help.Congratulations to Daisy-Leigh for her incredible bravery and generous spirit.
