Brad Pitt is turning heads once again with a bold return to one of his most iconic looks from the early 2000s—a clean buzzcut. The 61-year-old actor was recently spotted driving around Los Angeles, showing off the shaved hairstyle that echoes his style from the Fight Club era.
The new look revives a trend from Pitt’s past, when he first sported the buzzcut in the late ’90s. At the time, his then-girlfriend, Friends star Jennifer Aniston, helped shave his head for his role as Tyler Durden in Fight Club. Pitt later grew his hair back for their July 2000 wedding but shaved it again while filming 2005’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith, where he met his future wife, Angelina Jolie. The couple divorced in 2016.
This latest hair transformation comes as Y2K trends make a strong return, with fashion items like low-rise jeans and baby tees back in style. Pitt’s buzzcut, paired with oversized sunglasses, mirrors the edgy aesthetic he made famous decades ago.
Despite his history of style shifts, Pitt now takes a more relaxed approach to his appearance. In a 2021 interview with Esquire, he said, “You get older, you get crankier, and comfort becomes more important.”
He also speaks openly about aging. In a 2022 interview with Vogue, Pitt said he doesn’t want to hide his age. “I don’t want to be running from aging,” he shared. “It’s a concept we can’t escape, and I would like to see our culture embracing it a bit more.”
Calling the idea of “anti-aging” “ridiculous,” the Oscar winner emphasized the importance of self-care. “If we love ourselves, if we treat ourselves a little better, then there are long-lasting benefits to that,” he said. “So just age healthy, age in a healthy manner.”
With his return to a signature look and a grounded outlook on aging, Pitt continues to blend style with self-awareness—on his own terms.
