Sydney Sweeney surprised fans with a fresh hair color at the Vanity Fair Oscar party, unveiling a subtle shift from her usual golden blonde to a softer, multi-dimensional shade. The change caught the eye of many, including director Paul Feig, who is working with Sweeney on the upcoming film The Housemaid.
Colorist Jacob Schwartz described the new tone as “light suede blonde,” distinguishing it from the darker suede blonde she wore in recent months. He explained that the shade resembles the texture of a suede jacket or bag, with a natural mix of textures and tones.
This new color is more muted than Sweeney’s bright golden blonde, featuring neutral undertones. Schwartz added chunky highlights using Schwarzkopf Professional Vario Blond SuperPlus and lowlights with Schwarzkopf Professional Igora Vibrance. A standout detail is Sweeney’s natural roots, which add dimension and also allow for longer periods between salon visits—a practical trend for many.
Stylist Glen Coco crafted Sweeney’s soft waves with help from Kerastase products, including the L’incroyable Blow-Dry Hair Lotion. He used a SharkBeauty FlexFusion Styling Concentrator to rough dry the hair, then smoothed it with a Wet or Dry Fusion Brush attachment. Finally, he shaped the ends with a round brush and finished with the Wet or Dry Fusion Air Straightener to keep a lively bounce.
Sweeney’s new look combines a natural feel with polished style, proving that a good blowout can highlight any hair color change. Fans are already eager to see what blonde shade she will try next.
