Daniel Craig, the former James Bond star, has taken a surprising new direction with his hairstyle. Rather than sticking to a classic, clean-cut image, Craig has grown out his hair into a long, ash blonde style. He debuted this look at the Venice Film Festival, where he appeared with his wife, actress Rachel Weisz.
The 56-year-old actor sported chin-length hair with light stubble, paired simply with a white T-shirt and sunglasses. This new look gives Craig an aging rock-star vibe, quite different from his iconic Bond image.
Craig’s longer hair has been developing over time. In a recent Loewe campaign, his messy hair and cozy knitwear gave him a relaxed, artsy appearance, which GQ magazine called “delightfully weird.” He kept this flowing hairstyle at the Paris Olympics earlier this summer, still sporting stubble.
Long hair is not new to Craig. In the late 1990s, before his Bond fame, he wore long blond hair with a vampiric style. Now, while filming the third Knives Out movie, he continues to embrace longer locks for his character, Detective Benoit Blanc.
Craig joins a growing list of older male celebrities who have embraced longer hair, including Tom Cruise, Paul McCartney, and Jeff Bridges. Their styles prove that tousled, longer hair can work well at any age.
