Cynthia Nixon has taken the short hair trend to a new level. While stars like Victoria Beckham, Sharon Stone, and Pamela Anderson have embraced the bob for summer 2025, Nixon opted for an even shorter pixie cut.
The And Just Like That actress debuted her new hairstyle on June 18 during an appearance on The Today Show and while out in New York City. Her fresh cut features longer layers on top, thick bangs swept across her forehead, and a deep side part. The look is reminiscent of Miranda Hobbes’ iconic pixie from season one of Sex and the City—especially if it were dyed red.
Nixon styled her look with a structured white vest top with a soft peplum waist over a flowing beige linen maxi skirt. She completed the outfit with beige pointed-toe heels, a brown leather clutch, a chunky gold chain choker, and delicate gold earrings.
Fans first glimpsed her shorter style on June 12 at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of The Gilded Age season three. At that event, Nixon wore a sleeker version of the pixie cut and a dramatic black gown.
Speaking on The Today Show, Nixon revealed she had filmed both And Just Like That season three and The Gilded Age season three at the same time. “Let me tell you, it was extremely challenging,” she said.
Nixon, a natural blonde, has long dyed her hair red for her role as Miranda. However, in the first season of And Just Like That, she surprised viewers by going gray. “Michael Patrick King, our head writer and director, said a lot of women went gray during the pandemic and decided they liked it,” Nixon explained on Live with Kelly and Ryan. “So if one of the women was going to go gray, it would be Miranda.”Now, Miranda’s back to red, and Nixon is back to blonde—with a bold new cut to match.
