Meghann Fahy brought early 2000s fashion back to life during her May 20 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in New York City.
The actress wore a wine-colored, one-shoulder dress that looked like it was straight from a 2004 homecoming dance. The body-hugging dress featured ruching and an asymmetrical hem, and appeared to be from designer Magda Butrym—a brand Fahy favors. Just a month earlier, she wore a similar ruched dress by Butrym to the Drop movie premiere after-party.
Fahy completed her throwback look with flat-ironed, center-parted hair, chunky highlights, and face-framing layers—a style popular in the early 2000s. Her makeup included black eyeliner reminiscent of Avril Lavigne’s early style and a berry-colored lip. She kept accessories simple, choosing dangly gold earrings, a ring, and black strappy heels.
Best known for her role in The White Lotus season two in 2022, Fahy is now stepping fully into the spotlight with leading roles in Drop and the new Netflix series Sirens. In Sirens, she plays Devon, a middle-class woman navigating life in a wealthy Nantucket beach town.
In a recent interview with The New York Times, Fahy opened up about the challenges she faced early in her career. She admitted to struggling with low points but never lost her determination to succeed. “Even when I was depressed and broke, I still knew I wanted to be here and I wanted to keep going,” she said.
With her nostalgic style and rising career, Meghann Fahy is embracing both her past and her future.
