Lindsay Richards has given her 21-year-old brother a stunning makeover that has left him nearly unrecognizable. In a TikTok video, Lindsay documented the transformation and the dramatic steps she took to help her brother regain his confidence.
In the video, Lindsay begins by showing her brother removing his bucket hat, a long-time accessory he had used to conceal his receding hairline. “He started balding in high school and thought growing it out and wearing a hat was his only option,” Lindsay explained to her 2,700 followers. At the start of the makeover, her brother’s brown hair was flowing past his shoulders, but Lindsay was determined to make a change.
With her brother nervously sitting in his living room, Lindsay took out the scissors and started snipping away. “I’m nowhere near a professional,” she admitted. “The only goal was to give him more confidence, and I’m so glad he trusted me.” As she trimmed the sides and back, she joked, “He looks terrified,” adding that both were nervous but decided to “trust the process.”
After giving him a short back and sides cut, Lindsay then used clippers to clean up the edges around his ears. Her brother seemed happy with the progress, but Lindsay wasn’t finished yet. She proceeded to apply bleach to his hair, all while assuring him, “Trying not to panic.” When the transformation was complete, Lindsay playfully remarked, “It’s giving Sid from Toy Story,” referring to the blonde look she had given him.
