Selena Gomez continues to set hair trends, offering fresh inspiration for anyone sporting a long bob—or hoping to. At the Rare Beauty Mental Health Summit in Los Angeles on May 1, Gomez showcased a sleek and structured lob that was both simple and sophisticated.
The singer, actress, and beauty brand founder wore her hair in a center-parted style that was ultra-straight and glossy. Hairstylist Marissa Marino, a frequent collaborator, likely used a high-heat flat iron to achieve the polished look. Instead of leaving the ends straight or flipped outward, Marino curved them under slightly, giving the lob a sculptural and swishy finish.
While Marino didn’t reveal the specific products used, the shine was hard to miss. Gomez’s hair looked so glossy it could almost reflect light. The look was completed with soft pink blush and matching glossy lips, courtesy of makeup artist Hung Vanngo.
Gomez has embraced her shorter hair in recent months, experimenting with various styles since cutting it in late 2024. She debuted a flipped-out bob at the time and has since tried waves, barrettes inspired by the ’90s, and voluminous ’80s curls. During this past awards season, she leaned into retro glamour with a ’60s bob at the SAG Awards, a classic Elizabeth Taylor-inspired look at the Golden Globes, and a Marilyn Monroe tribute at the Oscars.
Her latest look proves that short hair can still be versatile—and effortlessly chic.
