Seven-year-old Kaylah Tianihad from Letterkenny is making her first-ever haircut count in a big way by supporting the Irish Cancer Society and The Little Princess Trust.
Kaylah, daughter of Sean and Ashley Tianihad, has never cut her hair since birth. This weekend, she will donate her long, dark brown locks to help children who have lost their hair due to cancer or medical conditions. Her hair will go to The Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides real-hair wigs free of charge to young patients.
But her gesture doesn’t stop there. Kaylah is also raising funds for Relay for Life Donegal, a major event supporting cancer research and care. She is taking part as a member of Team Pinehill Studios during the 24-hour relay, which starts at 4 p.m. Saturday on the ATU Letterkenny campus.
Kaylah’s haircut will take place in a private salon with a close family friend taking on the task. While it’s a big change for her, she sees it as a powerful way to help others.
Through her thoughtful actions, Kaylah hopes to bring comfort and support to those battling cancer — one strand at a time.
