British tennis star Jack Draper turned heads this week with a dramatic new hairstyle, just days before the start of the French Open.
The 23-year-old, who is currently ranked as Britain’s number one male player, was seen training ahead of the tournament. While his strong performance on the court impressed, it was his hair transformation that drew the most attention.
Draper has traded his usual blonde waves for a sharper cut featuring shaved sides and a longer fringe at the front. He also added frosted tips, giving the look a throwback to 1990s style. Fans were quick to comment on the change, comparing his new appearance to Cillian Murphy’s character in Peaky Blinders.
On social media, one fan wrote, “Jack Draper channels full Peaky Blinders vibes ahead of Roland-Garros!” Others echoed the sentiment, noting the similarity to Murphy’s famous role.
Draper has been in strong form recently. He reached the final in Madrid and competed in the Italian Open in Rome, showing confidence on clay courts. Speaking to BBC Sport, Draper said: “Professionally with the ATP I haven’t played loads on it. But when I was younger, whether in the UK or abroad, I always did well on the clay.”
He credits much of his support to his family. His father, Roger Draper, is the former chief executive of Sport England and the Lawn Tennis Association, while his mother, Nicky, was once a junior British tennis champion. “It’s really nice to have people you love—and who have your back—around you every day,” he told the BBC. “That’s what keeps you grounded and motivated.”
Outside of tennis, Draper is also making strides in the fashion world. He has modeled for major publications like British Vogue and Tatler, and earlier this year, he became a brand ambassador for Burberry.
In a statement, the fashion house praised Draper’s “drive, dedication, and optimism, on and off the tennis court,” calling him a perfect fit for the brand.
