Gigi Hadid paid homage to Old Hollywood glamour at the 2025 Met Gala with a striking hairstyle crafted by celebrity stylist Dimitris Giannetos. Inspired by 1940s victory rolls, the look was designed to pair seamlessly with her statuesque Miu Miu gown, which drew from Zelda Wynn Valdes’ signature style.
Giannetos described the look as “boudoir curls” and explained that styling Hadid at The Carlyle Hotel was a relaxed and collaborative process. “That era’s polished, glamorous waves felt like the perfect way to nod to Old Hollywood while still keeping it modern and fresh for the Met Gala carpet,” he said.
To create the style, Giannetos relied on time-honored tools and techniques. He used a classic set of curlers and generous amounts of hairspray to hold the shape and volume. “Let the rollers set and dry fully, then brush through the hair really well so you can shape and mold it,” he advised. “You can also use your fingers to create soft finger waves or just shake it out for a looser feel.”
Anti-frizz products and finishing spray added a smooth, glassy finish to Hadid’s hair — a detail that held up even during the rainy evening in New York.
Giannetos noted that the style was versatile enough for an after-party transformation. With a simple twist, he said the bottom section of Hadid’s curls could be pulled into a soft, low bun for a more relaxed, evening-ready look.
While Hadid’s post-gala plans remain unknown, her flawless hair moment — both timeless and trend-aware — was clearly built to last well beyond the red carpet.
